Routine physicals are important for us, and they are equally critical for our pets! A new pet should be examined (and vaccinated as needed) as soon as possible. This allows you to know that the newest member of your household is healthy and unlikely to present any medical issues to you and your family.
The two areas of major consideration are: the age of your pet and the proper examination process.
Up to the age of one year, kittens and puppies should be examined frequently. Based upon the initial and subsequent visits, we'll identify the ideal schedule for your pet.
Typically, a pet in good health and between the age of one and seven years should be examined annually.
Pets aged seven or older, or those of any age with chronic problems, should be examined every six months, or more often as needed.
An annual visit may include:
When health concerns arise, many steps in the examination process will seem quite familiar to pet owners, as they are so similar to our own! Blood tests, urinalysis, X-rays, ultrasounds, and ECGs are all useful in diagnosing your pet's medical issues early on.
We are dedicated to preventative medicine!
